Sony has announced yet another change to the PlayStation ‘service’, this time explaining that for now on controllers can only be used one time.
This comes after PlayStation removed over 500 movies from people’s collections that they already paid for and are getting rid of disks so they can charge a higher price for old games and take those away too.
“We understand that when consumers purchased controllers they assumed it would be for use forever,” said a Sony executive, “or at the very least used until it is broken then given to a younger sibling.”
“But you are just buying the hardware and paying for the right to use it temporarily which according to our new terms of service we can revoke at any time in a way that is surprisingly legal.”
“Now the moment you put the controller down, your license to use it will be revoked and you will need to purchase a new one.”
Sony have said that as a gesture of good will to players, controllers will currently stay at $135 a piece, but in order to sync a controller to a console you will need to be connected to the PlayStation Network and pay a $25 ‘Fuck You’ fee per new controller.
