Celebrity Advice: JK Rowling

Question: “I want to be a writer when I grow up, how do you write good characters” – Jimmy aged 9

JK: “Thankyou for the question Jimmy. People say that writing is about the things you don’t say, and that goes for characters too. That is why you should hold on to every interesting detail about a character and release them years after you finished writing. As for the names, I find it best to google obscure slurs and brainstorm ways to make it sound old-timey.”

Question: “I think I might have black mould growing in my living room, what should I do?” – Kate, a single mother of three

JK: “The first thing you should do is think about your safety and take immediate action, by that I mean that you should tweet that the mould is trans.”
