Government announces plans for future “Great Barrier Reef Memorial Gas Plant”

The Australian government has responded to yet another damning climate report that suggests continuing to do no where near enough to combat climate change, is still failing to combat climate change.

Climate Change Minister Chris Bowen said it is of the upmost importance for the government to plan with the future in mind moving forward, announcing timeline for ‘hopefully 2050 or so’ to be able to open the “Great Barrier Reef Memorial Gas Plant”.

“We can’t be stuck in the past denying climate change,” said the minister pretending like that is the bar that experts set.

“We need people to be forward thinkers ready to take action and when I was approving the extension of fossil fuel projects last week, I had an idea for what needs to be done.”

“When we lose the Great Barrier Reef, it will be tragic. But in the spirit of the Harold Holt Swimming Pool, the Great Barrier Reef Memorial Gas Plant will be a touching tribute to the memory of what we will eventually lose.”

“Plus, by making it a fossil fuels project, we can guarantee it’s taxpayer funding for decades to come.”
