Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has denied that Labor is failing to deliver gambling reform, explaining that Labor are having a major impact on the gambling lobby’s profits once you factor in the cost of all the gifts they buy the government.
“We are doing everything we need,” said the Prime Minister, “we are making sure that the gambling companies understand their responsibility to give me good seats for my next photo-op at the footy and not to cheap out on the caviar at dinner.”
“Between how much they spend on advertising and the amount they spend on wining and dining us, it’s honestly surprising that the gambling lobby even makes any profit.”
Labor has rejected calls from their own experts to crackdown on gambling ads, but did reassure the nation that their mates at SportsBet have a multi going on gambling reform that everyone should check out.
“The experts are overblowing this issue,” said Communications ‘Minister Rowland, “in my experience, I barely see any ads siting in the TabCorp premium box.”
“To suggest that we are conflicted or in anyway being paid off by the gambling lobby to be a walking advertisement for them is absurd. This is the end of my statement, which means I now need to legally need to say ‘gamble responsibly’.”
