HK designer unveils summer range of SARS masks

[Edition 72] HONG KONG, Tuesday: A leading Hong Kong fashion house has launched its new range of SARS masks for the upcoming season. The ready-to-wear masks have already become one of the hottest new items of Asian haute couture.

“They really are the ‘must-have’ accessory this summer,” said influential fashion editor Wendy Yu. “It’s important for today’s modern woman to resist fatal infection without compromising on good looks and style.”

Ms Yu hailed the new summer range, unveiled at a glamorous runway show last night, as a return to elegance and femininity in the competitive germ protection market.

The label behind the face masks is also busy developing a new line of evening masks for formal occasions, as well as a racy line of intimates for women who still wish to feel sexy in the face of a mounting viral epidemic.
