The Australian Government has taken the unprecedented step of banning anyone under 16 from social media, in a last ditch attempt to eradicate the ‘6-7’ brain-rot epidemic plaguing the world.
It is understood the government is still weighing up more measures, such as banning under 16s from speaking in general if things don’t improve.
“I have absolutely no idea what these kids are on about,” Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said. “Maybe the crippling generational inequality, the spectre of a future with no affordable housing and the destruction of the planet has finally cooked their brains?”
“Seriously what even is 6-7? I get more sense out of Barnaby after his 6 or 7th 4XXXX Gold.”
Meanwhile, teens around the country have changed their tune and become excited for life without social media.
“At first I was really upset about the ban” said Ben, 14, “but now I’ve realised that without all the hours I’ve spent doomscrolling I’ll have much more time to pursue other hobbies.”
“Like petty theft, vandalism, underage drinking, selling illegal vapes and intimidating elderly neighbours. I can’t wait!”
