AFL commentators reminded to stick with team names not ‘Victoria vs The Forces of Evil’

With the AFL Grand Final between Geelong and Brisbane about to kick off, the commentators have been handed sticky notes reminding them to not say ‘this is Victoria vs The Forces of Evil’ during the game.

“We know how you feel,” said one producer, “and you are right to feel that way, but for the sake of convenience let’s just stick to the team names.”

“While yes every team not from Victoria were sent by Satan to test the only true players of the sport, we must remain professional in our coverage.”

The commentators were relieved to hear they are still encouraged to refer to ever Victorian goal as a great success, and every goal against a Victorian team as disappointing.
