Republicans slam “ageist attacks” against oldest presidential candidate in US history

The Republican Party have slammed what they have dubbed as ‘ageist attacks’ against their candidate Donald J Trump that relate to the fact that this election will see him be the oldest official candidate for a US Presidential race.

“These attacks on his mental capacity are not in the spirit of a Presidential race,” said one Republican senator, “it’s disrespectful to a man who has held the highest office in the land.”

“Sure he may have slip ups every now and again, where he calls people the wrong name or forgets what he was saying. And sure the ‘Laughing Kamala’ nickname isn’t as strong as his previous ones, but behind closed doors he is extremely cognitive and very sharp.”

“This is just a sign that you all are desperate to find something to criticise him on, besides his criminal trials, civil trials, racism, misogyny, Project 2025, abortion rights, being a sexual predator, the numerous bankruptcies, tax evasion, scams, Jan 6 and all the creepy comments he has made about his daughter’s looks.”

In response to his age, CNN have said that the man must step down from his candidacy after months of denying that age was a problem for Joe Biden.
