“Releasing the Epstein files causes autism” claims Trump

President of the United States Donald Trump has held a press conference today declaring that better testing and understanding of autism is not the reason that diagnosis rates have gone up, instead claiming that the real reason is the creation of the Epstein files.

“This is the worst thing that can happen to someone’s brain,” claimed the guy getting medical advice from a dude whose brain was eaten by a worm.

“If you look on a graph, the amount of people diagnosed with autism has risen ever since this file was created so clearly it is to blame. If we release it, who knows how much autism that would cause.”

“Every time a name is un-redacted from the files, there is more autism that goes out in the world. Trust me on this.”

“Autism is a scary nasty thing, we must keep it away from our country. These people, they lock in on something and really focus on it in a scary way. You hear them talk about cutlery? This is the biggest issue in the country right now. We must stop it.”

In response, media outlets around the world ran the claim that experts say is ‘nonsense’ and ‘dangerous’ in headlines without any mention of it being untrue, in what has been described as ‘clearly reckless reporting’ by anyone who has paid any attention at all in the last two decades.
