Sky News host and former Liberal member Peta Credlin has publicly congratulated Sussan Ley on becoming the Liberals’ second ever female leader.
In a broadcast on Sky, Credlin applauded the Liberal Party for finally making a woman the official leader, as opposed to when she was the actual Prime Minister under Tony Abbott.
Credlin then gave a word of advice to Ley before she undertakes the role:
“I know how difficult it can be for a woman in the role. At times you might feel invisible, or like nobody knows your position,” said Credlin.
“Of course, you won’t actually feel that way, with the official title and all… Not that I’m bitter or anything.”
“Just remember that I walked so you could run.”
Following Credlin’s program, another Sky News host proceeded to accuse the Liberals of going woke, for not selecting someone based on the merit of his work.
