Americans have gathered for the special preview of their two uncles fighting during Thanksgiving dinner, courtesy of the US election.
Tim “Coach” Walz faced off against JD “Where’s my hug” Vance in a polite but spirited debate with undertones of anger felt deeply by everyone who’s had to sit at an awkward family dinner while two old men spout opinions at each other for hours.
“Every year they get into it,” sighed Dot from Kansas (22) “uncle Tim talks about how he owns a gun but supports gun reform, and uncle JD asks if he can have time alone with the new couch.”
“At family event now it is basically inevitable that someone asks, ‘Did Trump lose the election in 2020?’ and the vibe just gets really weird. I try to go for a walk at that point but sometimes you just can’t look away.”
The debate was viewed around the world as a historic event, being the first time the vice presidential position was ever considered relevant.
