Newly elected opposition leader Angus Taylor, has said that the resignation of past liberal party leader Sussan Ley means that they are already on track to achieve their new party goals, as the Liberals drop to only having 5 women in the House of Representatives.
“Sussan was a valuable asset to our party room, but we need to go in a radically new direction to improve our one nation, I mean nation,” said Taylor to the parliament house press pack.
“Our focus is on reducing women in the House of Reps, but we’re on track also reduce our female vote to zero too.”
When asked about the policy, Liberal deputy leader Jane Hume said “The polls clearly indicate that the people want us to be a more conservative party and what’s more conservative than rolling back the role women play?”
