Prime Minister Anthony Albanese told the press gallery that Australia completely backs America’s decision that the Australian government will back America’s bombing of Iran.
This after the PM who ran on bringing transparency back to parliament avoided questions about whether Australia was briefed on the attack, whether Australian equipment was used and whether Australian intelligence was involved by just saying the attack was ‘unilaterally’ done by America over and over again.
“When it comes to the issue of my position on this bombing, I can’t answer questions about decisions I didn’t make,” said the PM.
“If you are going to keep asking me questions about topic of this press conference, I will have to keep referring you to the answer that it was a unilaterally done by American forces.”
“It is Australia’s position that America had no other option but to escalate, but also we are against escalation other escalation not done by our allies, and if the region becomes unstable then America had no part in that. It is also the offical position of Australia that our favourite social media app is Truth Social.”
