Queensland police have begun nightly patrols of the state’s karaoke bars after reports of people disrupting social cohesion by singing John Farnham songs.
This comes after artists Scott Marsh and Nordacious had the police cracking down on their artworks depicting John Farnham next to lyric ‘River to the Sea’ from hit ‘Two Strong Hearts’ with Olivia Newton-John.
“Look there are some Farnham songs I wouldn’t be against banning because I hear them every night,” said Daveo, a bar owner from Brisbane, “but if someone is pulling out Two Strong Hearts, chances are they’re about to bring everyone together.”
Reports suggest police had a close call at 2am as thousands of people drunkenly started belting out Farnham around the state, but luckily it was only You’re The Voice.
