Aussie politics nerd Crystal Robinson has just excitedly gone on her lunch break after a long day of pretending to work while watching the New York election.
Beckman, who has already shared 12 Canva slides to her Instagram story despite her following being almost exclusively Australians, has had her work computer up to be ready to watch the polls trickle in while being able to switch screens to her actual job at a moment’s notice.
“This may as well be a public holiday,” said sent to a group chat of other politics nerds, “even if I wasn’t checking the polls, I spent so long last night sharing Mamdani memes that there was no way I would have the energy to get any work done today.”
“Plus I know what the polls were saying, but the polls weren’t ready for the massive late game push by the media and billionaires. I mean at this point, can we really trust American voters?”
Onlooking co-workers have were initially concerned for Beckman, saying is the most stressed she has been at work since roughly this time last year. But were relieved when she got up at her desk cheering while looking at some graphs.
