Peter Costello denies resigning, claims his role as Channel 9 Chairman simply tripped over a placard

Channel 9 has announced chair of the board Peter Costello will be departing effective immediately following a reported physical altercation with a News Corp journalist. However, Mr Costello has denied the allegations that he resigned, claiming instead that his career simply tripped over an advertising placard.

“My career was not pushed,” said the outgoing chairman, “it was just being careless and didn’t look where it was going. What a tragic accident.”

In response to the announcement, Channel 9’s A Current Affair have already begun work on an upcoming piece about the ‘dodgy multimillionaire boss, lashing out at reporters who clearly has something to hide’.
