News columnist fired for wanting to use their platform to bring people together instead of stoking division

A wannabe political writer at an Aussie media outlet has been fired after submitting a draft wanting to mourn those who were murdered in the antisemitic terror attack in Bondi, denounce bigotry in all forms and want the country to come together in mature empathetic manner to stop the spread of any more disturbing violence.

“What the fuck is wrong with you?” screamed a senior editor whose worked at every tabloid in the country, “Right now the people need us, they need us to make them even more afraid and hopefully that can stop our sales from plummeting.”

“Not only have you failed to do any fear mongering in this piece, you didn’t even endorse any Liberal Party or One Nation racists, pretending they suddenly care about protecting minority groups. You should be embarrassed.”

“You will never work in this industry if you don’t understand that your job is to make this country as unsafe as possible so we can later win awards for reporting on what we stoked.”
