Local man unsure if media is describing someone throwing a bomb at a First Nations protest, or just a kid doing some prank calls

Local man John Doe has been left scratching his head while reading the news while trying to figure out if what the media is describing was a man throwing a bomb at an Invasion Day protest, or just some kid doing some harmless prank calls.

“They’re being so vague and the language could be describing either option,” he said, “all I can tell was there was some sort of ‘incident’ that caused some sort of commotion.”

“Oh wait there is some mention of a ‘device’ that may or may not exist and was either thrown or magically appeared in the middle of the crowd, based on how different outlets are saying it. But I cant tell if it was a makeshift bomb, a party cracker or one of those fake cans of nuts that toy snakes jump out of.”

“I’ve seen people online say that it was a bomb that failed to explode, but surely if that was the case the media would be taking it seriously. I mean any time a uni student is in the same building as a slice of watermelon there is wall to wall coverage about ‘safety’ and the need for major action, so if there was something that is actually a threat it would be taken way more seriously.”
