It’s cute that male athletes are giving it a go too

As the first week of the Olympics comes to an end, Australia is once again facing a simple reality: women are just better at sport than men.

Australia is currently coming fourth on the Medal tally, with every gold being won by women. Which if you have paid any attention to sport in the last year, you would have expected.

Now this is not to disparage our male athletes who are out there giving it their all, I think it is cute that they are out there giving it a go too.

Look obviously male athletes do not deserve equal pay to the women. The performance just does not warrant the return on investment.

They should be happy enough with the honour of competing on the world stage, demanding an ‘equal pay’ they clearly don’t deserve is just being greedy.

Especially when you consider how much more investment in men’s sport there is compared to women’s but with far worse results. But I understand that economics might be confusing for men.

What benefit would investing in men’s sport even have? I mean, would people even watch men’s sports?

Why would I watch a man lose at a sport when I can watch an athlete at the top of her sport bring home the gold?

Maybe sport just isn’t for men, but I am happy to let them have a crack at it too if they want.

Yours,
