Greetings Workers!
If you’re anything like me, I guess you’re pretty relieved at this week’s decision by the Fair Work Commission to cut penalty rates. It’s a huge relief to be unburdened by the guilt of receiving those thick, overflowing Sunday pay packets from your poor, struggling boss.
(Of course, you should probably stop reading here. You’ll need to get back to work if you’ve got any chance of covering this week’s rent).
Farewell Malcolm
The Chaser would like to pay our respects to soon-to-be out-going Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.
Turnbull has been a Prime Minister of truly historic proportions. According to Newspoll, his loss of support amongst voters has been more rapid and more sustained than any other Prime Minister in Australian history. And remember, our history includes Billy McMahon.
To out-unachieve Billy McMahon guarantees Turnbull’s place in the history books, long after he gets ousted from power in the coming weeks.
And as if ruining the NBN doesn’t alone assure him a long, and expletive-laden place in our collective conscious, this week Turnbull presided over the greatest cut to wages in Australia since the Great Depression.
Turnbull will surely be remembered as one of the greatest cuts of all time.
Sneak peek
Our latest quarterly “The Chaser’s America” hits bookstores on Monday. Here is a sneak peek at the companion website that we’ve been working on, that will be launched with it on Monday.
Have a good weekend. Now, get back to work.
