In a shocking turn of events, it turns out that the registration on local resident Dave Thompson’s car is worth more than the car itself.

According to experts, the value of Thompson’s car has plummeted in recent years due to its age, mileage, and the time he tried to use Apple Maps and ended up driving into a lake.

“It’s a total nightmare,” said Thompson looking at his bill. “I paid $500 bucks for this thing. Between rego, pink slips, insurance, CTP, repairs, and licence renewal, that’s $2000 a year just to keep it on the road!”

To cover these costs, Dave has cut back on expenses, like petrol, and has started using public transport instead. “Sure it means I can’t actually drive the car,” shrugged Dave. “But it’s a small price to pay to be able to drive the 1992 Honda to the shops once a week. And by small price I mean eye-wateringly high price.”
